13th Meeting of the EAU Section of Oncological Urology
On behalf of the ESOU Board it is our pleasure to invite you to the 13th Meeting of the EAU Section of Oncological Urology (ESOU) will take place in Warsaw, Poland from 15-17 January 2016.
The annual ESOU Meeting will present the current state of the art in onco-urology, with particular emphasis on the diagnosis and treatment of cancer. The meeting will give you a unique opportunity to meet international experts in the field of onco-urology and to actively participate in lively discussions and debates. A multidisciplinary approach to cases will be maintained together with debates and videos of surgical procedures.
The format of the meeting has changed over the years with the implementation of the STEPS programme directed at a selection of young European urologists particularly interested in onco-urology who will have the opportunity to sit with international experts and discuss prostate, bladder, renal and since last year testis cancer. Hands-on training sessions in robotics are a valuable addition to the scientific programme.
We look forward to seeing you in Warsaw, a wonderful and charming European city full of history and tradition.
Day 1: The role of MRI in PCa diagnosis and active surveillance
Within five years, a standardized technique will be developed for deploying MRI in the diagnosis of prostate cancer. Urologists will be familiar with the PI-RADS (Prostate Imaging Reporting and Data System) scheme, and cooperate closely with better-trained radiologists in a team. This can result in a ten-minute “manogram”.
Day 2: Working together and communicating
One of the overarching themes of the second day of ESOU16 was multidisciplinarity. Delegates started the day with the second session devoted to prostate cancer, which is by far the most-covered topic in the three days of the 13th ESOU meeting in Warsaw.
